BREATHING BASICS

What is breathing rate?

Breathing rate, also called respiratory rate, is simply the number of breaths you take in a minute. It can change with activity, emotion, environment and many other factors.

Measure your breathing rate

Sit comfortably and breathe naturally. Press start, then tap Count a breath each time you complete one normal breath. Try not to deliberately change your breathing while counting.

Ready for a one-minute measurement.

For awareness, not diagnosis. This page is a simple wellness tool. If you are experiencing difficulty breathing, unusual symptoms, or concerns about your respiratory health, seek appropriate medical care.

Why track breathing?

Noticing your breathing can help you become more aware of how it varies across different situations — for example during quiet rest, before and after exercise, or as part of a mindfulness routine. A single measurement is only a snapshot; patterns over time can provide more context for general wellness awareness.
